ABOUT
Cedar Valdez is an arts administration professional with a strong foundation in nonprofit operations, theatre performance, and education. He holds a Master of Arts Administration from Oklahoma City University and a BFA in Musical Theatre from Ouachita Baptist University.
Originally from Northwest Arkansas, Cedar began his career on stage and in classrooms touring nationally as a performer and teaching theatre to students from kindergarten through high school. His work expanded into other areas of theatre, including ticketing and audience services at Kansas City Repertory Theatre, where he developed experience with Tessitura and front-of-house operations. He also spent time gaining experience in stage management while in residence at Charleston Stage.
He is passionate about making theatre accessible, inclusive, and engaging—whether through program development, strategic planning, or education initiatives. Cedar brings creativity, adaptability, and a collaborative spirit to every role, and he thrives in environments where the arts and administration intersect.
Currently you can find Cedar serving as Westport Center for the Arts' Marketing Coordinator, an adjudicator for Starlight Theatre, and a Ticketing Representative for Kansas City Repertory Theatre. He is also in the midst of curating and coordinating a month long art gallery through ArtsKC's Community Gallery program, titled It's Giving: Kansas City Queerness. The gallery will run May 1 to May 24, 2026. Cedar is excited to support theatre organizations that value storytelling, community, equity, and meaningful audience experiences.
